A new era for Emerald Technology

When I founded Emerald Technology 18 years ago, like many entrepreneurs, it was because I saw a gap in the market and felt I could build a company with the specific expertise to address it.

There were two different kinds of search organisations at that time – the very large, high-volume but slower-moving companies, and at the other end of the scale, the small boutique agencies who weren’t capable of meeting the volume requirements of hyper growth technology vendors. Emerald Technology was created with the vision of becoming the best of both worlds; providing both start-ups and larger corporates within the technology world with the right individuals to facilitate exponential growth by delivering a rapid, effective and transparent search solution.

Fast forward 18 years and we now have offices all over the world, a team of over 60 people globally, and an ever-expanding portfolio of disruptive and iconic clients. Our solution offering has also evolved over time – whilst we still carry out an unrivalled executive search service placing elusive ‘A-Players’ into global technology vendors, we have also developed an end-to-end infrastructure solution to enable start-ups to exceed their expansion goals by maximising ROI when they move into new markets and territories.

The rate of change in the technology industry since Emerald’s inception in 2000 has required our business to constantly evolve. Over the years, we have seen seismic market shifts, with increasingly prolific adoption of Cyber Security, Big Data, SaaS / Cloud and IoT technologies, as well as the introduction of completely new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation which are beginning to shape the future of the industry. We are continuously adapting to meet the needs of our clients and accommodate the very latest developments in technology, and it’s for that reason we felt now was the right time for a rebrand.

Why now? We opened our London office last year and have firm plans for further global expansion over the coming years. We have also launched our very first Academy to create the next generation of search experts and to meet the needs of our ever-increasing client base. Our continued evolution has prompted us to align ourselves with a new vision for the business:

We are all totally determined to enact real change within the disruptive vendors we work with, which is why I’m thrilled to finally launch our new brand, website and vision to our clients and the broader technology industry. It’s a brand new year, and the arrival of 2018 comes with a fresh excitement about the next years of Emerald Technology. We’re looking forward to working even more closely with our clients to support their individual missions as well as, of course, to the new era of our own business. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients, candidates, and the amazing people at Emerald who have made this journey possible.
